FB exchange triggers peeping Tom charges
Two Okarche residents pleaded not guilty Wednesday to felony charges related to sexual images allegedly shared in a Facebook Messenger exchange.
Tyler Lane Keener, 34, 625 N. Main St., Apt. 2, and Kimberly Dannehl, 32, 15760 N. Radio Road, are each charged with three felony counts of peeping Tom with photographic or electronic equipment.
Keener also is charged with a fourth count of nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images, a misdemeanor.
Bond was set at $15,000 each, with Keener scheduled to return to court March 11 and Dannehl April 13.
An affidavit signed by Okarche Police Officer Kyle Bridges includes excerpts from a lengthy and graphic Facebook Messenger exchange between Keener and Dannehl which extended from 2:32 p.m. Feb. 18 to 5:15 p.m. Feb. 19.
In the exchange, Dannehl asks for specific pornographic pictures of another woman taken without her knowledge during sexual relations with Keener, according to the affidavit.
Keener allegedly provided the photos via Messenger and Dannehl continued making more specific requests.
The other woman, who had been in a dating relationship with Keener, discovered the Messenger conversation and photos on Keener’s phone and reported it to the police.
The woman said she had no knowledge the photos had been taken and only learned they existed when she saw them in the Messenger conversation between Keener and Dannehl, according to Bridges’ affidavit.
In the Messenger excerpts in the police affidavit, Keener and Dannehl also discuss raping Keener’s girlfriend and another woman.
In an interview with officers after her arrest, Dannehl admitted to participating in the Messenger conversation and to making statements about raping the two women, but said that “it was just role play.” She also said she hated the two women, according to the affidavit.
At the time of his arrest, Keener allegedly said “I know what I did. It wasn’t actually going to happen. It was just role play.”
If convicted, Keener and Dannehl face up to five years in state prison and/or a fine of $500 on each of the peeping tom charges.
Keener’s misdemeanor count of dissemination of private sexual images carries a sentence of up to one year in the county jail and/or a fine of up to $1,000.
