— Former Kingfisher resident Betty Jane Geis celebrated her 100th birthday Nov. 18, joining the ranks of other local centenarians. Mrs. Geis was a longtime member of the Kingfisher Baptist Church and active local volunteer before she moved to Edmond to be closer to family members. Her advice to younger generations is to live life according to the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” She was recognized by Centenarians of Oklahoma with a certificate, a Golden Okie pin and a brief biography of her life.
