Hennessey board set Friday meeting on street repairs, more
An in-person special meeting at Town Hall by the Hennessey Board of Trustees was set 4 p.m. Friday, May 1 to act on a $11,280 quote for street repairs near the co-op elevator in the 100 block of West Kansas Street.
The repairs are apparently needed due to waterline issues.
The quote from Daniel Construction of Hennessey calls for tearing out concrete on the south side of Kansas Street; installation of a drain inlet, curbs ramp concrete at both Main and Kansas streets and on Kansas Street at the alley. A note on the quote shows that work could be started by May 8.
Update Proclamation
Another agenda item was to discuss possibly updating the town’s emergency proclamation dealing with COVID-19. They were possibly deleting the 10 p.m.-6 a.m. curfew so that not only workers, but all, could be out during those times.
Fireworks
The only other agenda item was to discuss “action regarding Fourth of July fireworks.”
Members of the board are Bert Gritz, mayor; Clif Vogt, vice mayor; Wes Hardin, Keith Meek and Richard Simunek.
Details of the meeting, which happened after this edition went to press, will be published in the Wednesday Times & Free Press.
