Hennessey Public School’s first day enrollment was 847 students, down from 889 last September.

However, numbers typically increase after Labor Day when families settle in to the school routine. Enrollment in 2018 was 864.

First-day numbers were significantly lower in early childhood and elementary school classes.

Student counts by building (last year in parenthesis): High school total 237

High school total 237 (231): freshmen 70 (50); sophomore 49 (62); junior 57 (59); senior 61 (60).

Middle school total 205 (200): sixth 78 (73); seventh 69 (56); eighth 58 (71). Elementary total 302

Elementary total 302 (328): first 61 (62); second 58 (62); third 60 (59); fourth 58 (65); fifth, 65 (82).

Early Childhood total 103 (130): pre-k 41 (62); kindergarten 62 (68).
