Hennessey Farmerettes met at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at the Eat It Up banquet room.
Answering roll call with “what inexpensive or dollar store items have you used in decorating your home?” were members Lily Rourke, Billie Melendy, Jaimie Akenhead, Jean Stribel, Mary Curry, Kathy Patocka and Margie McConnel back after a difficult recovery.
Melendy, president, opened the meeting by leading the flag salute. Curry, chaplain, read the inspirational article “remarks of friendship” and Akenhead, treasurer, gave the treasurer’s report with no addition having been made in June.
Akenhead read minutes of the May meeting which were approved as read.
Members discussed suggestions for a useful item for donation to the care center. A card was signed by members for Norma States recovering from pacemaker placement.
A thank-you note was read from Dot Miller regarding the health of her husband, Doyle.
Maxine Helgeson was unable to attend this meeting. The meeting was adjourned.
Curry, lesson leader, gave the lesson “DIY Dollar Store Decorating and Life Hacks.”
Curry declares herself a crafter and brought many items she had made both for her home and as gifts for others for display.
Afterwards apple pie, tea and water and candy and nuts were served compliments of States, the hostess who was unable to attend.
Stribel won the quarter drill.
August Farmerettes meeting will be at the home of Kathy Patocka.
