Hennessey Farmerettes members gather for November regular meeting
The Hennessey Farmerettes Extension group met Nov. 12 at the Hennessey Christian Church for its monthly meeting.
President Dot Miller opened the meeting and led the flag salute.
The devotion, “Quiet Awe,” was given by Mary Curry.
Seven members answered roll call by telling how many electronic devices they have and use.
Miller reported on the county presidents’ meeting attended by her, Jamie Akenhead, Jean Stribel and Lillie Rourke.
Akenhead has been selected vice president of the Kingfisher County OHCE, it was announced.
The minutes of the October meeting were read and approved.
Reporting on the donations made to the Hennessey Senior Citizens Center, Hennessey Care Center and 4-H were a part of the treasurer’s report.
The group will continue collecting Best Choice labels and donate the funds it receives from Best Choice to these projects.
A thank-you note from the Hennessey Senior Citizens Center was read.
There was discussion on having a Christmas outing. Dec. 4 was selected as the date; a location will be determined later.
The group will have a “Dirty Santa” gift exchange.
One member resides in an assisted living center and is unable to attend meetings, so the group decided to make her an honorary member.
The Northwest Oklahoma District OHCE meeting will be March 25 in Fairview. The Hennessey Farmerettes will co-host the meeting.
Rourke won the penny drill.
Miller provided a lesson on safety while using mobile devices.
The meeting adjourned for a pizza lunch.
Following the lunch break, the afternoon was spent by members working on the club scrapbook.
Margie McConnell was hostess and served snacks.
The next meeting will be Dec. 4.
