HennesseyHighSchool’s Nadia Valles and Mariana Gonzalez spoke to members of the Hennessey Child Study Club at the group’s Thursday, Oct. 3, meeting.

Valles and Gonzalez were the HHS representatives at Oklahoma Girls State.

Marilyn Buckner introduced the girls, who said they had an amazing experience and learned about the government. They also thanked the club for sponsoring them at Oklahoma Girls State.

President Rhonda Peach opened the meeting with the Lord’s Prayer and Charlene Choate read a devotional, “Thanks, Mom For.”

There were 15 members present and Wanda Choate read the minutes from the previous meeting.

Ginger Hladik gave the treasurer’s report.

Members voted to donate Halloween candy to the library, nursing home and to the Lions Club’s Oct. 26 Fall Festival.

The club will also help with the Stacey Guffy fund-raiser Nov. 2.

The next club meeting will be the Halloween Party at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Methodist Church.
