Here Come the Clydesdales!

By

Since 1999 the Express Clydesdales of Express Employment Professionals have become an internationally recognized team.

They are the World Champion Six and Eight-Horse Hitch. This rare hitch of black and white Clydesdales serve as Express Goodwill Ambassadors traveling across North America helping to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other charitable organizations.

The Express Clydesdales each wear a handcrafted English leather show harness with silver and chrome trim fitted specifically for their position in the hitch.

The team is pulling a beautiful, handcrafted replica of an 1880 Abbott Downing Hotel Coach. Commissioned by Express the coach is capable of seating 24 people, weighs over 4,000 pounds and is 12 feet high.

With the six-horse hitch the length of the unit is about 50 feet. These horses weigh an average of 2000 pounds each and stand approximately 18 to 20 hands high.

This team of Clydesdales has made appearances all over the United States and Canada including such notable events as the Calgary Stampede, The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Tournament of Roses Parade and numerous other events across the nation.

Home for these gentle giants is The Express Clydesdale Barn, located just north of Interstate 40 in Yukon.

The Express Clydesdales are housed in a specially reconstructed barn originally built in 1936. A group of Amish barn specialists came from Indiana to rebuild the barn’s structure.

Now, the barn is a welcome center for visitors from around the world, featured with pine wood and walnut trim and brass fixtures throughout.
