Hennessey High School was recently notified that they received a $500 grant for visual and performing arts supplies from the Oklahoma Arts Council.

The school was among 70 other schools in the state to receive a grant.

Beth Curran, HHS visual arts teacher, applied for the grant and said the funds will be used for paint, brushes, canvas etc.

She also offered her appreciation to the state council for providing the funds.

In all, the Arts Council awarded more than $35,000 in grants.
