Easter fun on the way this weekend

Kid- and family-friendly Easter fun galore is in store Saturday in Kingfisher and Hennessey.

The Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday in the field between Kingfisher Middle School and Heritage School.

The event is open to children ages 2 to 10, with the hunt broken into four age groups out of fairness to the little guys.

Ages 2 and 3, 4 and 5, 6 and 7 and 8-10 will be divided into separate hunts.

Children are asked to bring their own egg-collecting baskets and parents are reminded to bring their cameras to snap pictures with the Easter Bunny, who also will be on site for the day.

A horn will honk at exactly 12 noon Saturday to signal the start of the Hennessey Lioness Club’s annual Easter Egg Hunt at Bull Foot Park.

Your best bet is to get there before the horn, but if you’re running late, the Easter Bunny may save a few eggs back, Lioness members said.

Children will be divided into three age groups: 3 and 4, 5 and 6 and 7 and up.

Older family members are not allowed into the hunt area to help, the club said.

And, don’t forget a camera for Easter Bunny photo ops.
