McGriff said the new Holiday Inn Express being constructed on the south edge of Kingfisher is scheduled to open in August, if weather cooperates. She said the Platinum Hospitality group operates 18 hotels in Oklahoma, with another five in various phases of construction. She said Platinum Hospitality owns and operates hotels with the Holiday Inn, Hampton Inns and Best Western brands, and also owns and operates several restaurants in the state, as well as a steel mill.
