How Does Their Garden Grow?
Center of Family Love is expanding its current floriculture experience for its residents to add a greenhouse and other facilities to grow organic vegetables and herbs for their own consumption. The facility’s board and staff also also is exploring the possibility of selling its excess produce to the public and area restaurants. As an initial step, the center hosted state and local Farm Services Agency representatives Thursday to tour the campus and investigate the availability of government grants. FSA representatives included, back row, from left, Janlyn Hannah, state outreach coordinator; Jaramie Karcher, district director; Trista Costa, Kingfisher County director; Tyler Castonguay, Canadian County director and Scott Biggs, state director. On the front row are CFL reps Debbie Espinosa, CEO; Joe Fleckinger, board president; Marsha Smith, programs; Nellie Sanders, philanthropy; State Rep. Mike Sanders, and Stefanie Cotton, vocational director. See Wednesday’s paper for details.
