A number of events were held in Kingfisher earlier this month to commemorate National Day of Prayer. Among them was a women’s luncheon held May 2 at First Baptist Church. Shauna Rupp and Dovey Thomas performed the praise and worship. The call to prayer was presented by Pastor Debbie Burpo. Scripture was read by Denise Boots, Edie Preston, Bonnie Bamberg, Rupp and Tonya Payne and Kathi Edsall offered the closing remarks. Men hosted a dinner at the church the previous night. It was reported nearly 100 people attended each event.
