Inhofe calls Dems out of touch, says they’re stonewalling relief

By

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe made the following statement after Senate Democrats blocked a motion by Leader Mc-Connell to pass a targeted coronavirus relief package:

“Oklahomans need additional relief while our country continues to recover and rebuild from the effects of COVID-19,” Inhofe said.

“This legislation would have been a positive step forward—bringing additional relief to many—including those involved in state and local education and health care, farmers and ranchers, small businesses and those in need of continued unemployment benefits as economic activity picks back up.

“Instead, out-of-touch Senate Democrats have blocked yet another good faith effort to provide relief to everyday Americans to demand even more money to bail out New York and California.

“I urge my colleagues across the aisle to put aside their differences, come to the table and work with us to find a solution to help people in need.”
