JAMI ADAMS of the Center of Family Love in Okarche was the guest speaker of the Kingfisher Rotary Club last Tuesday. Adams, pictured right, presented a history of the faith-based organization, which cares for adults with mental and physical disabilities. She said the CFL is currently home to 130 residents and there is typically at least a two-year waiting period for admittance. Adams said the home offers loving, structured care, jobs for pay, and weekly outings for the residents. She closed by saying the home requires $24,000 per day to stay in operation. Of that amount, the CFL must raise $5,000, much of which comes from donations. She said last year’s fundraising gala event shattered all previous records by netting $900,000. Adams was introduced by Rotarian Jenny Nusz, left. [TIMES & FREE PRESS Staff Photo]
