With a wet late summer and fall there is plenty of fuel for wild fires and we will have plenty of dry winds.

Even with all the moisture we have grass fires can get out of control fast. Most of us realize this.

A back fire helps, burning away from structures and property lines.

If you are planning a controlled burn, contact your local fire department. They are there for your safety and they would be glad to help if you have any doubts.

If you are planning a controlled burn, plan ahead, making sure you have all bases covered. Good luck and be careful.
