MILITARY NAMES SOUGHT

Prior to May 27 Memorial Day Service Kingfisher American Legion Post No. 5, is seeking names of Kingfisher County residents currently serving or who have committed to serve in any branch of the U.S. military, to be recognized at the Memorial Day Service at Kingfisher Cemetery. NATIONAL POPPY DAY

Friday, May 24 Kingfisher American Legion Auxiliary wants to blanket the county in poppies on National Poppy Day to commemorate soldiers killed in battle. All county residents are encouraged to wear a poppy pinned to their chest on that day. Members will be making poppies and distributing them to anyone who would like one, in exchange for a donation of any size to the local American Legion chapter. See Sunday’s paper for more details.
