KGSA continues to make strides
Kingfisher Lions Club members were provided an update on continued improvements within the Kingfisher Girls Softball Association.
Lions Club member Brad Wittrock was joined by fellow KGSA board members Kena Martin, Jeremy Rowan and Joe Voth in making a presentation to the civic group last week.
They discussed upgrades under way at the softball facilities on the west end of Briscoe Sports Complex.
Rowan was the featured speaker and he commented that the longterm goal was to develop Kingfisher girls softball into a high school program that contends for championships.
“We have come along from a few years ago when this group started on the board and we had $12 in our checking account,” he said. “But we have a long way to go, and it’s trending in the right direction.”
He commented that most of the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities was the responsibility of the board and parents that show up for work days.
The KGSA season officially began earlier this month.
