KHS announces September Students of the Month
Kingfisher High School has named its Students of the Month for September 2020.
Students are chosen based on many characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, reliability, kindness and other criteria.
Selected by the faculty and staff were freshman Remington Boutwell, sophomore Jay Turner, junior Grace Sinclair and senior Braden Burns.
Boutwell is the daughter of Dana Boutwell and the late Donovan Boutwell.
She has earned the 1.5 million words read award and is listed on the principal’s honor roll. She currently participates in KHS drama, serves as a wrestling manager and is a KHS soccer team member.
Turner is the son of Joann Turner.
He is an active member of FFA and KHS Photography, in which one of his photographs is hanging on the wall in the high school.
Sinclair is the daughter of Mariah Sinclair.
She is listed on the superintendent’s honor roll and is a member of both the National Honor Society and Oklahoma Honor Society.
She is also a member of the FFA forestry and milk quality products team and is currently serving as junior editor for the KHS yearbook.
Burns is the son of Ryan and Lori Burns.
He is active in FFA where he currently serves as chapter president; Student Council; Spanish Club, where he was recently named the club’s king; KHS Photography staff; and the Oklahoma and National honor societies.
Among his numerous awards and honors, Burns was a member of the national champion conduct of chapter meetings team.
He was a national semifinalist in the FFA Creed contest as well as a member of the national semifinalist senior parliamentary procedure team.
Burns was also a national qualifier for the Photography Society of America.
