KHS names February 2019 top students
Kingfisher High School recently announced its Students of the Month for February 2019.
Selected by the teachers were freshman Jayden Burleson, sophomore Tyler Roman, junior Harrison Themer and senior Bree Taylor.
Burleson is the daughter of Charles and Rhiannon Snyder. She is active in Spanish Club.
Roman is the son of Ray Roman and Tammy Roman.
He is active in both National Honor Society and Oklahoma Honor Society. He is a member of the KHS Pride of Kingfisher band, drama and STARS.
Themer is the son of Dennis and Tammy Them-er.
He is an active member of FFA, National Honor Society, student council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, basketball and cross country.
He recently performed the National Anthem on his guitar at the Class 4A boys state basketball tournament at State Fair Arena, is a two-time National FFA champion as well as a seven-time State FFA champion.
Themer currently serves as FFA historian, NHS historian and KHS student body secretary. He was a member of the 2018 Class 4A state runner-up basketball team and the 2019 Class 4A state champion basketball team.
Taylor is the daughter of Bill and Brooke Taylor.
She is an active member of the National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, FFA, student council, Business Professionals of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the American Institute of Parliamentarians.
Taylor was recently chosen as an Oklahoma Academic All-State recipient and she has received a Kingfisher Meritorious Achievement Medal.
In 2017, she was named the National FFA Outstanding Secretary. In 2018, Taylor was a member of the National FFA champion livestock evaluation team as well as the National Barrow Show champion livestock evaluation team.
She exhibited the grand champion market goat at the Oklahoma Youth Expo in both 2017 and 2018.
