KHS names its October Students of the Month

KHS names its October Students of the Month

Kingfisher High School has recently named its Students of the Month for October 2020.

Students are chosen based on many characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, relikindness and more.

Selected by the faculty and staff were freshman Kylie Hood, sophomore Natalie Dick, junior Katon Lunsford and senior Cason Matthews.

Hood is the daughter of Shane and Janet Hood.

She is currently serving as the freshman class secretary and is active in Student Council, FFA and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

She also participates in South Central PGA Golf.

Dick is the daughter of Jeff and Mika Dick.

She is an active member of the KHS basketball and softball teams as well as Student Council and National Honor Society.

In softball this year, Dick was named all-conference and was honorable mention for all-district.

She is listed on the superintendent’s honor roll and participates in the Federated Church Youth Group.

Lunsford is the daughter of Kenny and Meggan Lunsford.

She is an active member of the KHS cross country and track teams as well as FFA, National Honor Society and Oklahoma Honor Society.

She is currently serving as the junior class vice president and she was a member of the FFA parliamentary procedure team that placed third at nationals.

Lunsford was a vital member of both the 2018 state champion cross country team and the 2020 team that recently won regionals and was third at the 4A state meet.

Matthews is the son of Jamie and Char Matthews.

He is active on the KHS football and track teams.

He was a member of the academic state champion track team.
