KHS names January Students of the Month
Kingfisher High School has announced its Students of the Month for January 2019.
Selected by the teachers were freshman Konner Baartman, sophomore Nathan Smalley, junior Ashtin Witt and senior Emma Wood.
Baartman is the son of Jeremiah and Angel Baartman. He is on the Oklahoma Honor Society. He is an active member of KHS football and soccer and plays ping pong.
Smalley is the son of George and Audra Smalley.
He is an active member of drama, KHS vocal, KHS tennis and serves as KHS softball manager. Smalley has been listed on the principal’s honor roll, is a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society and was named the Newcomer of the Year in drama.
Witt is the daughter of Wade and Kellee Witt.
She is a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society and the National Honor Society.
Witt is active in KHS track, cheer, and cross country. She was a part of the 2018 state champion 4A girls cross country team and she is a member of the First Baptist Church Youth Group.
Wood is the daughter of Jay and Libby Wood. She has received the 4.0 Award, Superior Academic Award, is listed on the superintendent’s honor roll and is a valedictorian for the class of 2019.
Wood is a member of both the Oklahoma Honor Society and National Honor Society. She was the local winner and state runner-up for the American Legion Essay Contest and has twice been named Student of the Month at KHS.
Wood is active in KHS girls basketball, FCCLA, where she currently serves as vice president, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is a member of the First Baptist Church youth group.
