KHS names January Students of the Month

Kingfisher High School has named its Students of the Month for January 2020.

Selected by the teachers were freshman Avery Davis, sophomore Rylie Farrar, junior Braden Burns and senior Victoria Gerken.

Students are chosen based on many characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, reliability, kindness and other attributes.

Davis is the daughter of Brandon and Aly Davis and Kelly and Lindsay Kopp. She has been on the superintendent’s and principal’s honor rolls and was named one of the top eighth grade students in Algebra I, science and history.

She is a member of the KHS girls basketball team, student council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Elevate Youth Group.

Farrar is the daughter of Tyler and Jacque Farrar and Jeremy and Jodie Blevins.

She is active in Kingfisher FFA and National Honor Society.

Farrar is also a member of the KHS cheer team.

Burns is the son of Ryan and Lori Burns.

He was a member of the national champion FFA conduct of chapter meetings team and the national FFA semifinalist senior parliamentary procedure team as well as a national semifinalist in the FFA creed speaking.

Burns is a member of the two-time state champion FFA meat evaluation team and the two-time state champion FFA senior parliamentary procedure team.

Along with FFA, Burns is also active in the National and Oklahoma honor societies, student council and is a member of the KHS Photography staff.

Gerken is the daughter of David and Cara Gerken.

She was a member of the national champion FFA conduct of chapter meetings team as well as the national champion FFA livestock judging team.

She was also the state FFA prepared public speaking animal science champion and a member of the state champion FFA parliamentary procedure team.

Along with FFA, Gerken is also active in student council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National and Oklahoma honor societies and the Mercy Student Governing Board.
