KHS names Students of the Month
Kingfisher High School has named its Students of the Month for February 2020.
Selected by the teachers were freshman Katy Diedrich, sophomore Katon Lunsford, junior Mia Farrell, and senior Jon Henry.
Students are chosen based on many characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, reliability, kindness and more.
Diedrich is the daughter of Dennis Diedrich and Misty Sweat. She is a member of the Pride of Kingfisher band, KHS cheer squad, Kingfisher FFA, student council and the Oklahoma Honor Society. She received a superior rating on her flute solo at the district competition and she has earned a place on both the Red Carpet Honor Band and All-Area Honor Band. She was also a member of the 2019 junior high cheer team that placed first at GameDay State.
Lunsford is the daughter of Kenny and Meggan Lunsford. She is a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society and National Honor Society as well as KHS cross country and track teams, cheer squad and FFA. She currently serves as the sophomore class treasurer. Lunsford was a member of the 2018 Class 4A girls cross country state championship team, one that also earned the Distinguished Academic Award. At the state track meet, she placed fifth in the twomile run and was on the one-mile relay team. She was also a member of the FFA Conduct of Chapter meeting team that placed third at nationals.
Farrell is the daughter of Scott and Stephanie Farrell. She currently serves as the junior class reporter and is a member of the KHS fastpitch and slowpitch softball teams, tennis team and National Honor Society. Farrell was named to the 2019 fastpitch all-conference and all-district teams. She is also listed on the superintendent’s honor roll and is a member of LifeWay Church.
Henry is the son of Michael Henry. He is active in KHS track and field, cross country, wrestling, as well as FFA. Henry has been a state qualifier in wrestling and track and was a cross country state qualifier for two years.
