KHS names Students of the Month
Kingfisher High School has recently named its Students of the Month for 2021.
Students are chosen based on several characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, reliability, kindness and others.
Selected by the faculty and staff were freshman Cesar Marquez, sophomore Ivy Hartman, junior Demi Roden and senior Kase Simon.
Marquez is the son of Carlos Marquez and Celia Marquez.
He is a member of the KHS soccer team.
Hartman is the daughter of Chad and Leah Hartman. She is a member of both the Oklahoma Honor Society and the National Honor Society.
She is active in the Kingfisher FFA Chapter where she currently serves as historian.
She was a member of the conduct of chapter meetings team that won the state competition and placed third at nationals where she also earned a perfect test score.
Hartman is an involved member of the KHS cheer squad that placed third at state.
She was named student of the month as a freshman and was the outstanding eighth grade student.
She is also active in Student Council and Fellowship of Christian Athletes at KHS and the Kingfisher First Baptist Church Elevate youth group.
Roden is the daughter of Debby Roden and the late Kevin Roden.
She is a member of both the Oklahoma Honor Society and the National Honor Society.
She is also active in Student Council and is a member of the KHS track team.
Simon is the son of Chris and Michele Simon.
He is a member of both the Oklahoma Honor Society and the National Honor Society and has been listed on both the superintendent’s and principal’s honor rolls.
Simon has been chosen as student of the month at KHS for four years.
He is active in Student Council where he served as secretary last year and is vice president this year.
Throughout his high school career, Simon has been a member of the KHS track, cross country, tennis and basketball teams, including the 2019 state champion team.
He is also active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Kingfisher Nazarene Church youth group.
