KHS names Students of the Month
Kingfisher High School has named its Students of the Month for March 2021.
Selected by the faculty and staff were freshman Libbie Barnett, sophomore Mayce Gibson, junior Ally Scammahorn and senior Rebecca Auringer.
Students are chosen based on many characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, reliability, kindness, and more.
Barnett is the daughter of Fay and Tiffanie Barnett.
She is a member of the National Honor Society and is listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.
She’s active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council and is a vital part of both the KHS cheer squad and KHS soccer team.
Gibson is the daughter of Ryan and Ashley Gibson.
She is listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and is a manager for the KHS football team.
She is also an active member of the Kingfisher FFA Chapter. She was a member of the Conduct of Chapter Meetings team that placed first at state and third at nationals.
Scammahorn is the daughter of Shawn and Erin Scammahorn.
She is a member of the KHS track and cross country teams and is an active Kingfisher FFA member.
She was recently named the 2021 Kingfisher County champion senior and overall swine showman at the Spring Livestock Show.
Auringer is the daughter of Daniel and Clarissa Auringer.
She is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Honor Society.
She has been an FFA member for five years and served as a chapter officer for two years.
She was the FFA Green-hand quiz state champion in 2018 and was a member of the FFA Conduct of Chapter Meetings state champion team in 2019.
Auringer is also active in the KHS Photography department and has been the assistant chief photographer for one year.
