Kingfisher, Dover and Loyal had increases in their August sales tax checks, according to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

The state tax commission receives and distributes sales tax for local entities of government while handling the state sales tax.

The August distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from June business.

Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically.  The monies they reported this period represent sales from June 16 to June 30  and estimated sales from July 1 to July 15.

The disbursement of $158,951,388 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $12,168 from the $158,939,220 distributed to the cities and towns in August last year.  The use tax disbursement to cities and towns was $20,677,356.

In county returns, the counties shared in a $28,431,893 sales tax disbursement and a $3,782,146 use tax disbursement.

The tax commission also collects use tax for local government. Use taxes, which are collected at the same rate as a local government’s sales tax rate, is applied on purchases made out of the city or county for delivery within those entities.

Use tax check comparisons for August 2019 and August 2018 appear in that order:

Cashion – $4,206.75 and $2,143.30.

Crescent – $4,694.82 and $4,775.52.

Dover – $23,568.52 and $2,056.15.

Hennessey–$13,457.58 and $6,728.31.

Kingfisher – $82,136.49 and $46,968.65

Okarche – $11,144.62 and $26,578.29.

Watonga–$20,169.85 and $8,137.37

Kingfisher County – $200,143.75 and $168,206.72
