Kingfisher FFA members to receive American Degrees; others compete

By
Kara Murray

Peyton Burns, Lane Dobrovolny, Kaleb Mercer and Bree Taylor will represent the Kingfisher chapter this year in receiving their American FFA Degree.

Typically they would be receiving this prestigious award at the national convention, but this year the convention will be hosted virtually.

Jentry Squires was named a finalist with her AgriScience project this year at the National Agri-Science Fair.

She will be competing virtually for the national AgriScience title.

Competition results should be available by late fall or early winter.

The chapter had students compete last week at the Morrison and Woodward Junior FFA Leadership Development Event (LDE) competitions.

Following are results:

Greenhand quizbowl contest – Ashley Casillas placed second, Keira Hine was third, Laney Rose was fourth and Chloe Blair was fifth.

Opening and closing ceremonies team placed fifth. Members of the team include Kylie Hood, Blair, Casillas, Rose, Hannah Francis and Mia Hartman.

Sept. 15 at Woodward

The opening and closing ceremonies team placed first. Team members were Hood, Garrett, Elliott, Crosswhite, Francis and Hartman.
