The 40-year-old male driver showed signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking alcohol upon questioning, according to the report. Staton stated he performed field sobriety tests on the subject, which he was unable to complete satisfactorily and was subsequently placed under arrest for driving under the influence. Upon inventory of the vehicle, a cup containing a pink beverage which smelled of alcohol was discovered and the driver reportedly admitted it contained alcohol, according to the report. The vehicle was impounded and the driver was arrested for reckless driving, DUI, and transporting an open container of liquor. Officers Broden Carls and Justin Conner assisted with the traffic stop.
