Kingfisher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
November 1 - Burglary-second degree (auto). Officer Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of stolen property in the 400 block of West Erwin Avenue. According to the report, Wager Winters, Kingfi sher, stated his vehicle had been rummaged through while he was inside the Heritage school gym. Winters reported multiple items were missing, including his wife’s purse, wallet, driver’s license, cash, credit cards, gift cards, and a cashier’s check. Estimated value of the missing items is $1,750. Officer David Catron assisted with the investigation.
November 1 - Assault and battery. Offi cer Charles Trout responded to a report of an assault in the 900 block of Beall Road.
November 2 - No driver’s license, no insurance, expired license plates. Offi cer Aaron Schlegel observed a vehicle with an expired tag in the vicinity of 13th Street and Admire Avenue and initiated a traffi c stop. According to the report, the 26-year-old male driver did not have a driver’s license and was unable to provide insurance for the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle on which all taxes due to state have not been paid, failure to comply with the compulsory insurance law and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license. The vehicle was impounded and the driver was transported to the county jail.
November 3 - Malicious injury/destruction of property. Officer Charles Trout responded to a report of vandalism at the Federated Church, 400 W. Fay Ave. Upon arrival, Trout was directed to two mailboxes belonging to the church and parsonage which appeared to have been struck by a vehicle, according to the report. Trout took photographs of the mailboxes and tire tracks in the dirt near the mailboxes.
November 4 - Possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia, driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked, no insurance, altering license plate/ decal, expired license plate and bringing or possessing contraband in jail or penal institution. Officer Aaron Schlegel reported he was on patrol in the vicinity of Will Rogers Drive and 13th Street when he observed a 2008 Lincoln with three occupants inside. Schlegel entered the vehicle’s tag number into his mobile computer and after determining the tag was expired he initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle. According to the report, the 24-year-old male driver did not have a valid driver’s license and was not able to provide insurance verifi cation. Schlegel stated in his report that he asked the driver why the expired vehicle tag displayed a current 2020 registration decal. The driver reportedly stated a friend gave him the decal to put on the vehicle. Schlegel noted in his report he detected the odor of marijuana and requested assistance from Officers Justin Conner and Jason East. According to the report, the 28-year-old female passenger admitted to the use of heroin and told the officer there was marijuana and syringes in the vehicle. Officers searched the vehicle and located various drugs and drug paraphernalia, the report stated. Officer Conner searched the other passenger, a 35-year-old male, and located a baggy containing a black tar substance in his pants pocket, according to the report. The vehicle was impounded and all the subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the county jail. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle on which all taxes due to state have not been paid, affixing decal with intent to conceal identity, failure to comply with compulsory insurance law, operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license is revoked, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The passengers were arrested for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. The female passenger was also charged with bringing contraband into the jail after drugs were discovered on her person during the booking process, the report said. Schlegel photographed the evidence and performed field tests for heroin and methamphetamine, resulting in a positive test for the drugs.
