Kingfisher Police Department reports

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

October 22 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer. Officer Justin Trumbley responded to a report of theft from Atwoods, 1213 S. Main St.

Trumbley stated in his report that Atwoods employees witnessed two males acting suspicously while loading items from a shopping cart into a vehicle. One of the employees videotaped the men and the vehicle, including the license plate, according to the report.

Trumbley stated in his report that he was able to verify the identity of the driver, a 24-year-old Woodward male, acquire his contact information and speak with him. The suspect reportedly admitted to the theft of some drills and stated that he had sold them.

Trumbley later identified the second suspect, a 34-year-old Mooreland male, and determined he was incarcerated in the Woodward County jail.

An Atwoods management representative provided store surveillance of the incident and photos taken in the parking lot. Various Dewalt items were stolen and the reported value was slightly over $2,000.

November 4 - Attempted fraud. Officer Dustin Brodrick investigated a report of attempted fraud.

Brodrick stated in his report that a 75-year-old Kingfisher man stated he had been contacted by a person claiming to be a Microsoft technician. According to the report, the technician claimed the man’s email had been used to send threatening emails and requested the man’s bank account number.

The man reportedly stated he did not give his banking information to the man but wanted to make a report and have it on file with the police department.

Brodrick suggested the man change the password to his email and not release his banking information.

November 5 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer. Officer Dillon Chaloupek responded to Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive, in reference to a theft.

Upon arrival, the customer service manager reportedly stated she witnessed a woman approaching the registers and another employee informed her that the woman did not pay for the items before exiting the store.

The manager directed Chaloupek and Offi cer Justin Trumbley to the vehicle in the parking lot that the woman was seen approaching, according to the report. Chaloupek stated in his report that as Trumbley approached the vehicle, the woman exited the vehicle and began to walk away. Trumbley stated he recognized the 30-year-old Kingfi sher woman and was able to identify her, according to the report.

Walmart representatives provided surveillance video of the incident at a later date and Chaloupek indicated he would be filing a charge against the suspect for larceny of merchandise from a retailer.

November 5 - Complaint. Officer Aaron Schlegel responded to Trail Creek Wellness, 1001 Hospital Circle, in regards to possible drugs found.

According to the report, a small bag with a white crystalline substance was found in the lobby. Schlegel stated in his report that the substance was possibly methamphetamine and he placed it in an evidence bag and took it to the police department for storage in the evidence room.

November 6 - Malicious injury/destruction of property. Officer Aaron Schlegel stated in his report that he was on patrol in the vicinity of U.S. 81 and Starlite Drive and he witnessed a Ken-worth semi trying to back out of Kingfi sher Family Dental parking lot, 2698 S. Frontage Road.

Schlegel made contact with the 63-year-old male driver. The driver stated he drove onto Frontage Road in an attempt to enter the Walmart parking lot, not realizing there was no access to the parking lot and was attempting to turn his truck around, according to the report.

Schlegel stated in his report that he informed the driver he had damaged the lawn and collected identifying information from the driver to report to the dental business. The driver stated he would also inform his employer of the incident.

Schlegel took photographs of the damage and attempted to contact the owner of the business.

November 10 - Possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia. Offi cer Broden Carls stated in his report that he was on patrol when he witnessed a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am with a severely cracked windshield exiting McDonald’s parking lot. Carls initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle at the intersection of U.S. 81 and Frontage Road. Carls issued the driver, a 52-year-old female, a warning for the cracked windshield.

According to the report, Carls witnessed a marijuana shake in the vehicle and asked the driver if she had a medical marijuana license. The driver reportedly stated she did not and the vehicle belonged to a friend.

Assisting Officer Aaron Schlegel searched the vehicle and discovered two bags of a substance presumed to be methamphetamine and a meth pipe, according to the report. The vehicle was impounded and the subject was placed under arrest and transported to the county jail. The substance in the bags field tested positive for methamphetamine. Schlegel took photographs of the seized evidence.

November 10 - Theft of a motor vehicle. Offi cer Justin Conner responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. Destiny Lambert reportedly stated her 2005 Chrysler minivan was missing from the Hitchin’ Post on S.H. 33. Officers attempted to gather video surveillance related to the incident.

November 12 - Theft from vehicle. Offi cer Justin Trumbley took a report from Jay Bigger, Roosevelt, regarding a theft from his vehicle at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive. Bigger stated he noticed the tailgate of his truck was open when he returned to his vehicle in the Walmart parking lot and a storage tote containing coveralls was missing.

Trumbley requested video surveillance from the Walmart parking lot during the time of the alleged incident. After reviewing the video, Trumbley stated in his report that the tailgate of the truck was open when the vehicle entered the parking lot and there was no evidence of anyone removing anything from the vehicle.

November 15 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer. Officer Broden Carls responded to a call from the Weatherford Police Department for an agency assist with a larceny report.

Carls stated in his report that he made contact with Officer Andy Tait of the Weatherford Police Department and Tait informed him that he had three suspects in custody for theft from the Weatherford Walmart.

According to the report, Tait told Carls he had been informed that the three individuals he had in custody were also suspected of a theft of over $5,000 of electronics from Kingfi sher Walmart, on the previous day.

Weatherford Walmart representatives stated that Kingfisher Walmart had distributed photo ID’s of the individuals to area Walmart stores after the alleged theft. The three individuals were identified as a 22-year-old male, a 19-year-old-male and a 20-year-old male all with Florida residence.

Tait stated the suspects’ vehicle contained a large amount of electronic merchandise, according to the report. Carls informed Tait that his office did not have a report on file concerning the alleged theft at the Kingfi sher Walmart, but had made contact with the Walmart asset manager and informed them a report would need to be filed for further review of the alleged theft by the Kingfisher Police Department.
