Kingfisher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
January 23 - Malicious injury/destruction of property. Officer Travis Gray responded to a report of vandalism in the 500 block of North First Street. According to the report, Donnesia Wedel stated when she returned to her residence she was confronted by a known female who threatened to slash her vehicle’s tires. Wedel then reportedly stated that the next morning she discovered that her vehicle tires were flat. The neighbors also reported that the same individual had wanted a ride the previous night and, when they refused, the individual threatened to flatten their vehicle tires, according to the report. Officer David Catron assisted with the investigation and photographed the puncture marks in all four tires of the Wedel vehicle. Officers confronted the alleged perpetrator and the 51-year-old female suspect admitted to slashing the tires of the Wedel vehicle, according to the report. Catron verified the suspect had an outstanding warrant and she was arrested for the warrant and transported to the county jail.
January 24 - Threatening, harassing, obscene telephone calls. Officer Richard Staton took a report from a 32-year-old Kingfisher man regarding his unreturned property and threats made against him. Officer Travis Gray assisted with the investigation.
January 27 - Burglary-second degree (auto). Officer Dustin Brodrick took a report regarding theft from a vehicle in the 300 block of South Eighth Street. According to the report, April Askey stated her vehicle had been burglarized at her residence during the night of January 24-25. She reportedly stated a wallet which contained four credit cards, a checkbook, driver’s license and $10 was missing from the vehicle. Askey said she notified the bank and credit card companies regarding the theft, according to the report.
January 28 - Domestic assault and battery/ abuse. Officer Ryan Gibson responded to a domestic altercation in the 300 block of West Bowman.
January 29 - Grand larceny. Officer Charles Trout responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive. Trout stated in his report that he met with the day manager and she said two men had entered the store around 1 a.m. and asked to look at the iPhones in the electronics department. According to the report, the night manager removed the phones from the locked cabinet and the men examined the phones for a short time, then appeared to decide not to purchase them and left the store. The day manager stated she noticed a damaged iPhone on the counter of the photo lab and, after examining it, determined that it was counterfeit, according to the report. The manager reportedly stated that she then reviewed the overnight surveillance footage and saw the two men swap four counterfeit iPhones for the four real iPhones while examining them. The damaged counterfeit iPhone that the day manager discovered on the photo lab counter had been set aside by the night manager after one of the men dropped it while swapping the phones, according to the report. Trout confiscated the iPhone packaging and counterfeit iPhones as evidence and reviewed the surveillance footage. The reported total cost of the stolen iPhones without tax was almost $5,000. Trout entered the information for the iPhones into National Crime Information Center.
January 29 - Larceny from house. Officer Justin Conner took a report from a 31-year-old female regarding a missing electronic tablet. The female reportedly stated an electronic tablet was missing since about Jan. 19 and she suspected a known male subject, who had been at her house at that time, had taken the tablet. Conner stated in his report that he spoke with the male subject and his girlfriend at the police department and they stated the woman had contacted them, but they did not have the tablet and wanted to file a protective order against her. Conner informed the couple that, since they do not reside in Kingfisher County, they would need to contact authorities where they live in order to file a protective order, according to the report.
