The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

Feb. 26 — Officer Richard Staton took a report from Rod McDaniels, pastor of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church (509 N. Fourth Street), concerning a case of alleged embezzlement there.

McDaniels stated that one of the church members allegedly confessed to using the church debit card to take $11,474.50 to fund a gambling problem. The suspect agreed in writing to reimburse it with monthly payments, and if she missed more than one payment, all records would be turned over to the police.

March 4, 9 p.m. — Officers responded to a reported domestic dispute in the 100 Block of South Sixth Street.

March 5 — Lt. Travis Gray took a report from a Waukomis woman who stated that her ex son-in-law - of Coyle - has been fraudulently using her debit card to the total of $2,163.08, including a $39.38 purchase in Kingfisher.

March 6, 10:15 a.m. — Officers responded to 2301 S. Mitchell Drive, Apartment No. 1, in reference to a possible burglary. The homeowner’s caregiver advised that she was at the home to do work, and left for about ten minutes. The homeowner was away. When she returned, she observed medication bottles on the floor and a large cup of juice had been spilled in the bedroom.

When officers arrived, they found the bottles and observed that they were empty, but the homeowner’s most recent prescription was missing. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

March 7 — Officer Richard Staton was dispatched to 201 N. First Street in reference to a stolen vehicle. At the scene, Rebecca Cook advised that her daughter’s boyfriend had taken the gray 2000 Dodge 1500 Ram, and allegedly would not return it except in exchange for $300.

March 9, 4:41 p.m. — Officer Aaron Schlegel conducted a traffic stop on Main Street just north of Robberts Avenue after observing a vehicle with a defective third brake light.

The driver, a 31 year-old Wellington, Kan., man, was found to be driving with a suspended license. The man had, according to the report, been arrested in this county a couple of weeks prior on a charge of possession, and was wearing an ankle monitor at the time of this incident.

The man was placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license, and was transported to the Kingfisher County Jail.
