The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

February 22 - Domestic abuse, assault and battery. Officer Dillon Chaloupek responded to a report of a domestic altercation in the 1300 block of South 12th Street. Officer Richard Staton assisted with the investigation.

February 22 - Fraudulent use of credit card number. Officer Richard Staton took a report of credit card fraud. According to the report, Amy Trout stated she used her credit card at Double D’s to purchase gas during the morning of Feb. 22. Trout stated she discovered two unauthorized charges made at Double D’s the same day as the gas purchase, according to the report. Staton said in his report that he made contact with the clerk at Double D’s and was advised that their new gas pumps are equipped with an alert system if the pumps are tampered with and the gas pumps appeared to be in working order. The clerk stated she would inform the store manager regarding the incident, according to the report.

February 22 - Receiving and/or concealing stolen property. Officer Charles Trout took a report from the Salina Police Department in Kansas regarding a stolen iPad. The iPad had reportedly been activated at a residence in the 300 block of West Chisholm Drive, according to the report. Trout stated in his report that he went to the residence and made contact with the suspect. Trout questioned the 25-year-old Wichita, Kan., man regarding the iPad and the man reportedly stated it was given to him by someone else. According to the report, the owner of the residence allowed Trout to retrieve the iPad and an Apple Pencil from the residence. Trout made contact with the reporting officer at the Salina Police Department and was able to match the serial numbers of the iPad and Apple Pencil with the reported stolen items. Trout informed the male subject that he would file the paperwork with the District Attorney’s office and there could be a warrant issued for his arrest. The subject was allowed to return to the residence and the iPad and Apple Pencil were confiscated as evidence.
