Kingfisher Police Department reports

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

March 19 - Protective order violation. Officer Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of a protective order violation.

March 20 - Unauthorized use of vehicle. Officer Charles Trout took a report of a stolen vehicle.

David Hartzell, owner of Hartzell’s Heat & Air, reportedly stated he allowed a new employee to use the company van as a work vehicle. The 51-year-old male employee had taken the van to his residence in Enid and, after quitting his job, had not returned the vehicle or answered text messages from Hartzell, according to the report.

Hartzell provided Trout with identifying information for the 2011 Ford van and a list of tools and items in the van. The estimated value for the van was $12,000 and $20,000 for the tools and items in the van.

Trout attempted to contact the subject by phone, but was only able to leave messages on the man’s voicemail, according to the report.

Trout stated in his report that he entered the vehicle as stolen into the National Crime Information Center and contacted the Enid Police Department for assistance.

An Enid police officer located the vehicle at the suspect’s residence and had it impounded, according to the report.

Trout stated in his report that he would be filing a case against the suspect with the district attorney’s office requesting a warrant for his arrest.

March 20 - Burglary (automobile). Officer Travis Gray responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in the 700 block of South Eighth Street.

Beth Woodall reportedlystated she noticed someone had been in her vehicle and she discovered a cigarette on the driver’s seat. Gray collected the cigarette as evidence.

Woodall stated the only thing that appeared to be missing was a $2 bill, according to the report.

Gray stated in his report that he contacted Woodall’s neighbor regarding possible surveillance video of the incident. On surveillance footage Gray witnessed a masked subject walk into the homeowner’s carport and then proceed toward the Woodall vehicle, according to the report.

March 20 - Burglary (automobile). Officer Briston Lowry responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in the 500 block of South Sixth Street.

Travys Townsend reportedly stated his vehicle was burglarized during the night and two firearms, prescription medication, his driver’s license and a debit card were stolen.

Townsend also said two transactions were attempted at Walmart on the debit card and one transaction at McDonald’s, but were declined, according to the report.

Lowry contacted Walmart and McDonald’s regarding surveillance video of the transactions and planned to follow-up with the investigation.

Estimated value of the stolen firearms was $1,100.

March 20 - Burglary (automobile). Officer Richard Staton responded to a report of an automobile burglary at Erwin Avenue and South Sixth Street.

Natalie Stockton reportedly stated her vehicle had been burglarized overnight and approximately $500 and a credit card were stolen from her wallet. Stockton said the credit card had been used at Walmart for a purchase of $420 that morning, according to the report.

Staton stated in his report that he contacted Walmart in an attempt to view surveillance video. According to the report, the manager was not able to determine at that time which register the transaction occurred at, but would notify Staton the following day after the transaction report was complete.

March 20 - Burglary of vehicle. Officer Charles Trout responded to a report of an automobile burglary in the 100 block of East Toronto. Haeleigh Jimenez reportedly stated she noticed her husband’s vehicle had possibly been burglarized but was not sure if anything was missing. Her husband, Jose, later reported that about $100 was missing, according to the report.

Trout took photographs of the interior of the truck as evidence.
