Kingfisher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
April 23 - Display fictitious license plate, expired license plates, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers Aaron Schlegel and Justin Conner witnessed a vehicle with an invalid temporary license plate and initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle in the 300 block of North Eighth Street.
When questioned by Schlegel, the 42-year-old female driver reportedly stated she received the license plate from a friend.
Schlegel stated in his report there were also two known passengers in the vehicle.
According to the report, the driver gave the officers permission to search the vehicle and a syringe and plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance were discovered and seized.
The subjects were allowed to leave, but Schlegel informed the driver that he would be filing a case against her with the district attorney’s office, according to the report.
Schlegel photographed the evidence and field tested the crystalline substance, which produced a positive test result for methamphetamine, according to the report.

April 24 - Possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearm by felon, prohibited weapons-switchblade/knuckles, driving with license canceled/ suspended/revoked and no insurance. Officer Aaron Schlegel initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle in the area of S.H. 33 and Sixth Street for a defective brake light and missing driver’s side mirror.
The 24-year-old male driver reportedly stated that he did not have a valid driver’s license and did not have insurance on the vehicle, but produced a passport for identification.
A 26-year-old male passenger presented an identification card upon Schlegel’s request, according to the report.
Schlegel requested information from dispatch regarding any warrants associated with the vehicle occupants.
Schlegel stated in his report that while questioning the driver, he witnessed a container which he suspected contained marijuana. The driver reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana and stated that there was probably marijuana in the vehicle.
Officers Justin Conner and Dillon Chaloupek arrived to assist with the investigation.
Conner retrieved a loaded firearm from the passenger’s pocket and the suspect stated that he was a convicted felon, according to the report.
Schlegel stated in his report that upon his search of the driver, he located a container with a white crystalline substance in it, which he suspected to be methamphetamine.
Upon a search of the vehicle, officers located a 12-gauge shotgun, several smoking pipes, several containers of THC wax, a digital scale, a jar of marijuana, a safe containing marijuana and rolling papers.
Chaloupek inventoried the vehicle and the vehicle was impounded.
The driver was transported to the county jail and charged with operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license is suspended, failure to comply with compulsory insurance law, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The passenger was transported to the county jail after being medically cleared at Mercy Hospital Kingfisher. He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, felon in possession of firearm and possession of prohibited dangerous weapon/brass knuckles.
All items were seized as evidence and photographed. The white crystalline substance was field tested for methamphetamine and produced a positive result, the report said.
Officer Briston Lowry assisted with the investigation.
April 27 - Burglary-second degree. Officer Sam Ridenhour responded to a suspected burglary in the 2400 block of South 15th Street.
The 22-year-old female resident reportedly stated when she returned to her residence she noticed the door was open.
She stated an iPad and $40 were missing from the residence, according to the report.
Officer Briston Lowry assisted with the investigation.
April 29 - Obtaining property under false pretense. Officer Dustin Brodrick responded to Atwoods, 1213 S. Main, in reference to an individual obtaining property under false pretense.
According to the report, the manager stated a male individual brought in a fuel pump for an exchange. He selected a more expensive fuel pump, but did not pay the difference and left the store, the report said.
Brodrick obtained a photograph of the individual from surveillance video at the store.
May 2 - Malicious injury/destruction of property. Officer Briston Lowry responded to a report of vandalism in the 1500 block of South 12th Street.

Traffic accident
The following traffic accident is being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:
April 30, 11:30 a.m. - At U.S. 81 and S.H. 33. Kenneth Bryant, 68, Weatherford, driving a 2018 Kenworth, was stopped at the traffic light in the northbound left turn lane of U.S. 81.
Gary Austin, 53, Kingfisher, driving a 2017 Toyota Highlander, was stopped directly behind the Bryant vehicle.
The Bryant vehicle attempted to back up to provide space for a westbound semi-truck turning left onto southbound U.S. 81 and struck the Austin vehicle.
Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported.
Officer Dustin Brodrick investigated the accident. stated a window at his residence had been damaged by a BB gun. Lowry observed the damage and suspected it had been caused by a BB gun, according to the report.

May 4 - Domestic assault and battery/abuse. Officer Briston Lowry responded to a domestic dispute in the 900 block of South Eighth Street.
Officers Sam Ridenhour and Charles Trout assisted with the investigation.
