Kingfisher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
May 13 - Embezzlement (over $500). Officer Justin Trumbley took a report from John Smith, owner of CBD Plus located at 523 N. Main, regarding embezzlement. Smith reportedly stated a 27-year-old male employee removed approximately $2,800 from the safe to pay a purchase order the employee created and had not returned the money. According to the report, Smith terminated the man’s employment and stated the man also has in his possession one of the business computers valued at $1,000. Smith provided Trumbley with texts and emails between himself and the employee regarding the incident, the report said.
May 18 - Public intoxication. Officer Charles Trout responded to a report of a possible intoxicated individual in the 200 block of South Seventh Street. Trout stated in his report that he located a 29-yearold male subject who appeared to exhibit signs of being under the influence of methamphetamine. Trout placed the subject under arrest for public intoxication. He was transported to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher to be medically cleared and was admitted for further observation.
May 19 - Domestic abuse committed in presence of child. Officer Justin Trumbley responded to a possible domestic altercation in the 800 block of Aspen Drive. Officers Travis Gray and Dustin Brodrick assisted with the investigation.
May 19 - Petit larceny. Officer Charles Trout responded to a report of a possible shoplifting incident at Atwoods, 1213 S. Main St. The shift manager reportedly stated she suspected a female customer of theft after the door sensor sounded upon the woman’s exit of the store. According to the report, another employee was able to get a description of the vehicle and its license plate number. Trout requested the manager review the store surveillance video and send him information regarding the footage. Another individual provided Trout with a picture of the vehicle and a male passenger, according to the report.
May 20 - Malicious injury/destruction of property. Officer Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of property damage in the 1000 block of West Robin Lane. Jeannette Hansens reportedly stated she noticed damage to the gates to her brother’s property on Robin Lane. Schlegel and Hansens checked the house and shop, but nothing appeared to be missing, the report said. Schlegel photographed the damage to the gates.
May 21 - Identity theft. Officers Justin Conner and Aaron Schlegel took 22 reports of identity theft. Those filing reports were: Theresa Layn, Doug Jech, Lynn Barnett, Heather Mercer, Jill Haub, Misty Blundell, Billee Karcher, Elizabeth Wood, Jay Wood, Kerri Lafferty, Michelle Watkins, Sheila Redwine, Meggan Lunsford, Ben Reherman, Todd Overstreet, Wendi Carter, Kurt Bollenbach, Bridget Birdwell, Coni Kitchens, Joann Turner, Teresa Fletcher, Laura Baker (on behalf of James Murphy, deceased). All reports were regarding fraudulent unemployment claims.
May 22 - Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Officer Dillon Chaloupek stated in his report that he was northbound on South 13th Street when he observed a vehicle cross the center line and remain left of center for two blocks. Chaloupek initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle and detected the odor of marijuana and witnessed an open beer container in the vehicle, according to the report. Chaloupek searched the vehicle and performed field sobriety tests on the 45-year-old male driver, the report said. The driver reportedly stated that he was not able to complete the tests because he was too intoxicated. The driver was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and transported to the county jail. The open beer container was seized as evidence. Officer Matthew Hollon assisted with the investigation.
May 23 - Petit larceny second offense. Officer Dillon Chaloupek responded to a report of theft in the 100 block of North Fifth Street. Phillip Hudson reportedly stated two of his son’s bikes were missing and presumed stolen. Chaloupek stated in his report that he received a call from a witness stating the location of one of the bikes. According to the report, Chaloupek went to the location and spoke with witnesses regarding the bike theft and a possible suspect. Hudson identified the bike as his son’s and officers released the bike to him, according to the report. Officer Ryan Gibson assisted with the investigation.
May 25 - Protective order violation. Officer Briston Lowry responded to a report of a protective order violation and possible altercation in the 200 block of West Will Rogers Drive.
May 25 - DUI-liquor or drugs, child endangerment, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited-marijuana. Officer Briston Lowry was dispatched in response to a possible drunk driver traveling southbound on Main Street. According to the report, Lowry located the vehicle and witnessed it swerving and driving left of center. Lowry stated in his report that he initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle and detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and an odor of alcoholic beverage on the driver. A field sobriety test was performed on the driver and the 27-year-old female was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol and DUI child endangerment, according to the report. Officer Sam Ridenhour arrived to assist with the investigation and witnessed a mason jar containing a green leafy substance in the vehicle which field tested positive for marijuana, the report said. The jar was photographed and collected as evidence. The driver was also charged with possession of marijuana and transported to the county jail. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver and children in the vehicle were released into the custody of a passenger in the vehicle.
May 26 - Domestic abuse assault and battery. Officer Jason East responded to a report of a domestic altercation in the 400 block of West Don Blanding Avenue. Officers Travis Gray and Justin Trumbley assisted with the investigation.
May 26 - Child endangerment and DUI-liquor or drugs. Officer Aaron Schlegel was dispatched to the 600 block of South Third Street in reference to a welfare check. Schlegel stated in his report that when he arrived to the location, Officer Jason East was speaking with a 31-year-old female standing near a vehicle with two children inside. According to the report, East informed Schlegel he suspected the woman was under the influence and she admitted to drinking alcohol. Schlegel performed field sobriety tests on the suspect, which she was unable to successfully complete, according to the report. The female was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and child endangerment and transported to the county jail. Officers contacted family members regarding the children and they were released into their custody, according to the report.
May 26 - Burglary-second degree. Officer Dillon Chaloupek took a report of auto burglary in the 300 block of South Ninth Street. David Bedford reportedly stated he noticed a pair of Harley Davidson boots were missing from his vehicle and that papers in the vehicle had been moved.
May 30 - Domestic abuse committed in the presence of a child. Officer Ryan Gibson investigated a domestic altercation in the 1500 block of South Seventh Street. Officer Matthew Hollon assisted with the investigation.
June 1 - Identity theft. Officers Justin Trumbley, Travis Gray, Dillon Chaloupek and Dustin Brodrick took 14 reports of identity theft. Those filing reports of identity theft were: Nicole Buck, Muriel Trumbley, Kurt Kaya, Justin Conner, David Catron, David Slezickey, Ellie Darnell, Jonathan Friesen, Briana Stitt, Bobby Lumpkin, Brent Henderson, Lori Burns, April Askey and Richard Staton. All reports were regarding fraudulent unemployment claims.
