The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

November 19 - Receiving/possessing/concealing stolen property. Officer Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of theft at Atwoods, 1213 S. Main St.

An employee at Atwoods reportedly stated a female customer attempted to exchange a battery pack, but was not allowed to do so without providing another battery pack for exchange and the customer left the store.

According to the report, the employee stated the female was suspected of previously stealing items on Oct. 24. After noting the customer’s vehicle description and direction of travel, the employee contacted the police department.

Brodrick said in his report that Captain Travis Gray located the suspect’s vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Gray questioned the woman regarding the theft of items from Atwoods.

The woman admitted to stealing a battery pack that day, but denied stealing items on Oct. 24, according to the report.

Atwoods employees reportedly located the empty package for the battery pack in the store and Brodrick placed the 50-year-old female suspect under arrest for possession of stolen property and she was transported to the county jail.

Officer Quinton Cline assisted with the investigation and recovered the empty package from Atwoods and photographed the stolen property.

November 21 - Assault and/or battery with deadly weapon and assault and battery. Officer Brandon Chapman responded to a report of assault in the 500 block of North First Street.

Chapman stated in his report that he made contact with a 50-year-old female suspect outside the residence and she stated two women had attacked her inside the residence.

A male inside the residence told Chapman there was a fight between the suspect and another woman at the residence, but only after the female suspect, currently outside the residence, pulled a knife from her boot, according to the report.

The other individual, a 52-year-old female, reportedly agreed the incident had occurred as the male witness indicated, the report said.

Chapman stated in his report that he questioned the 50-year-old female regarding the knife and she retrieved it from her vehicle and gave it to him.

Officers seized the knife as evidence and photographed both womens’ injuries.
