Kingfisher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
July 20 - Possession of marijuana, DUS. Officer Richard Staton made a traffic stop for speeding on U.S. Highway 81.
According to the report, upon approaching the vehicle he detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver, a 35-year-old male, reportedly told the officer his driver’s license was suspended and claimed to work for a dispensary, stating there was approximately 14 grams of marijuana in the vehicle.
Upon searching the vehicle, the report stated, Staton found and seized three plastic baggies and a glass jar containing a green leafy substance, which field tested positive for marijuana.
The driver was issued district citations for the marijuana and driving under suspension. Officer Schlegel assisted with the traffic stop.
July 21 - Possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. Officer Justin Conner made a traffic stop for speeding on U.S. 81.
According to the report, as the officer was writing a citation he noticed the driver, a 27-year-old male, and passenger, a 29-year-old female, appeared to be nervous. Officer Schlegel was called to assist and spoke with the passenger while Officer Conner questioned the driver.
The report stated, after receiving permission to search the vehicle from the driver Officer Conner found a folded up magazine with a crystalline substance which field tested positive for meth. A pink glass smoking device was found in the vehicle and the passenger reportedly confessed to having meth concealed on her person.
The driver and passenger were placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and transported to the county jail.
July 23 - Domestic assault and battery. Officers Travis Gray and Quinton Cline responded to a domestic assault in the 500 block of South Fifth Street.
July 25 - Breaking and entering. Officer Staton was dispatched to an apartment in the 800 block of Kens Road in reference to a door being kicked in.
July 26 - Disturbance and outstanding warrant. Officer Staton, assisted by Officer Jason East, was dispatched to the 700 block of South Third Street in reference to a disturbance.
Upon arrival a woman reportedly stated an intoxicated, unidentified male was on their property causing a disturbance and allegedly punched their Chevrolet Silverado pickup, leaving a dent. According to the report, she stated he fled the scene before officers arrived.
The officers located the suspect, who was heavily intoxicated, and after determining he had an outstanding warrant he was placed under arrest and transported to the county jail, the report stated.
July 26 - Breaking and entering. Officer Charles Trout was dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of South Third Street in reference to a front door being damaged.
The door was damaged and slightly open when he returned home, the resident reportedly stated to the officer.
Officer Trout photographed the damaged door and door frame and asked the resident if he noticed anything missing. The resident stated there did not appear to be anything missing, according to the report.
July 29 - Theft of motor vehicle. Officer Dillon Chaloupek received a report from Robyn Byrum of Dover concerning the theft of a pickup truck from South Sixth Street in Kingfisher.
Based on the report, Byrum stated she gave someone permission to take the truck from her home in Dover to Kingfisher to run some errands but the truck had not been returned. After reportedly unsuccessfully trying to locate the vehicle over a period of two days Byrum stated she wanted to report it stolen, according to the report.
The report identified the vehicle as a 2010 Ford F-150 extended cab, flame blue with silver trim towards the bottom. Identifying information was entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.
July 31 - Petit larceny. Officer Trout received a report from Mike Myers concerning a theft of new wooden pallets. The report stated the pallets were stolen July 27 from the 2000 block of South Main based on video survelliance. Photographs were submitted to the police department as evidence.
