Kingfisher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
April 12 - Criminal trespass and obtaining refund by false information.
Officer Charles Trout responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive. Julio Esparza, asset protection associate, reportedly stated a 63-year-old male suspect attempted to make a fraudulent merchandise return.
According to the report, on April 9 the suspect entered the store and proceeded to take a gas-powered string trimmer from the store shelf and attempt to return it for a refund at the service desk.
The man was identified by another store employee who had prior dealings with the suspect at another Walmart, according to the report.
Trout stated in his report that Esparza provided a notice of trespass which had been issued to and signed by the suspect in June 2020.
Another associate took photos of the suspect’s vehicle and license plate, the report said.
The reported value of the string trimmer was $126.
April 15 - Fraudulent use of credit card number.
Officer Justin Conner took a report of credit card fraud in the 200 block of West Overstreet.
Chelsea Rednose reportedly stated she received a notice from her bank regarding possible fraudulent activity on her debit card. Rednose then received an email from Walmart for a $638.58 laptop purchase to be delivered to a Walmart in Broken Arrow, according to the report.
Rednose reportedly contacted Walmart and canceled the order as well as notified the Broken Arrow Police Department.
A suspect was identified and officers from the Broken Arrow Police Department planned to make contact with the suspect during the order pick-up time at Walmart, the report said.
April 17 - Possession of dangerous drugs prohibited and bringing or possessing contraband in jail or penal institution.
Officer Aaron Schlegel stated in his report that he was on patrol in the area of Sixth Street and Oklahoma Avenue when he made a traffic stop of a vehicle for a defective third brake light.
According to the report, a 40-year-old female with an outstanding warrant was a passenger in the vehicle and was taken into custody.
Schlegel issued the driver a citation for the defective brake light and transported the female to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
During the booking process, the jailer confiscated one and one-half pills from the suspect’s pocket, which were later identified as a controlled dangerous substance, according to the report.
Schlegel said in his report that he questioned the subject regarding the pills and she indicated they were prescription pain medication and she had the original prescription bottle in another location.
Schlegel informed the subject that he would need to see the original prescription, but she was unable to provide the prescription after posting bond and being released, the report said.
The subject was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance and bringing contraband into the jail.
