Kingfisher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
August 2 - Larceny/ knowingly concealing stolen property. Officer Bro-den Carls took a report from a Love’s employee concerning the theft of a 100-foot garden hose valued at $80.
The employee reportedly witnessed the subject remove the garden hose from the Love’s property at 203 S. Main St., then leave in a vehicle traveling north.
Officer Carls and Officer Richard Staton took a description, including the tag number, of the vehicle and its occupants, while Officers Charles Trout and Jason East attempted to locate the vehicle.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Seth Wallace made a traffic stop of the vehicle for an expired tag on State Highway 33. After contact with Officer Carls, the trooper then followed the vehicle back to Love’s, where the employee reportedly identified the 38-year-old male as the suspect who took the garden hose.
According to the report, the suspect, who was a passenger in the vehicle, stated he took the garden hose while the driver, a 36-year-old female and her daughter, were in the store and they had no knowledge of the crime.
The officers advised the subject that charges would be filed with the district attorney’s office and that a warrant could be issued for his arrest.
The report stated the garden hose was returned and photographed as evidence.
August 2 - Attempted burglary. Officer Travis Gray took a report from Scott Burton concerning a possible attempted break-in at a residence in the 1000 block of Meadow Avenue.
According to the report, Burton showed Officer Gray a cut or tear in the door seal near the dead bolt and door knob, but stated that he did not believe entry was made into the house and nothing appeared to be missing.
Officer Gray took photographs of the door seal, lock and knob as evidence.
August 3 - Domestic abuse/assault and battery. Officers Charles Trout and Richard Staton responded to an alleged domestic assault in the 200 block of West Sheridan.
August 7 - Fraudulent use of credit card. Officer Justin Conner took a report from George Story concerning unauthorized use of a debit card.
August 7 - Warrant service/possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. According to the report, Officer Justin Conner initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle in which he had been advised the passenger, a 42-year-old female, had an outstanding warrant.
The officer stated in the report, that he asked the subject if there was anything in her purse she did not want to take into the jail and she reportedly stated there might be a pipe in her purse. The purse was then confiscated and placed in the patrol car, according to the report.
The subject was transported to the county jail, where the jailer searched the purse and located a glass pipe with white residue inside and a tan piece of plastic with a white crystal substance inside, as well as a loose crystal like substance in a wallet which field tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the report. The female subject was subsequently booked into the county jail without incident.
Officer Jason East assisted with the traffic stop.
August 11 - Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Officer Dillon Chaloupek received a report from dispatch of a possible drunk driver.
According to the report, when he located the vehicle he witnessed it traveling left of center on the roadway.
Officer Chaloupek stated in his report, that he made a traffic stop and asked the driver, a 29-year-old male, for identification and insurance verification. The driver was not able to locate his insurance verification or driver’s license, but was able to give the officer his driver’s license number, according to the report.
Officer Chaloupek stated in his report, that he asked the driver if he had consumed alcohol recently and the driver reportedly stated that he had drank some alcohol earlier in the evening.
According to the report, field sobriety tests were performed. The subject was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and issued citations for suspicion of DUI and failure to provide insurance verification, the report stated.
Officer Sam Ridenhour assisted with the traffic stop.
August 14 - Burglary-second degree. Officer Justin Conner was dispatched to an apartment in the 800 block of Kens Road in reference to a burglary.
Officer Conner met with the resident, who reportedly stated she had left her door unlocked and someone had been entering her apartment without permission and taking things.
The resident stated this had been occurring for three months, so she placed a camera in the apartment and had footage identifying the perpetrator, according to the report. On this date, the resident reportedly stated the camera footage showed a male, who she was able to identify, looking through her refrigerator, taking ice cream, candy, chips, and soda with a total value of $12.
Officer Conner received the camera images and attempted to make contact with the man identified on the camera, according to the report.
August 15 - Domestic abuse/assault and battery. Officer Justin Trumbley responded to an alleged assault in the 700 block of South Third Street. Officer Richard Staton assisted with the call.
