Kingfisher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
September 9 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer. Officer Dustin Brodrick responded to Atwoods, 1213 S. Main St., in reference to a reported theft of a pair of boots. Brodrick met with the store manager, who reportedly stated she had questioned a man earlier regarding the security alarm sounding as he exited the store. He reportedly stated he had purchased new boots the previous day and the security tag had stuck to his sock. According to the report, after reviewing surveillance video, the manager witnessed the man try on a pair of new boots, remove the tags, place his old boots in the boot box and exit the store wearing the new boots without paying for them. Brodrick stated in his report a possible suspect was identified and the officer returned to the store with a photo line-up, in which a 29-year-old male was positively identified by the manager and another employee. According to the report, the suspect initially stated that he did try on boots, but did not steal any and that the security alarm sounded because of a security tag stuck to his sock, but later admitted to stealing the boots. The suspect returned the stolen boots, which were photographed for evidence, and the officer returned the suspect’s boots to him, according to the report. Brodrick informed the suspect a report would be sent to the assistant district attorney for theft and possession of stolen property. The boots were valued at $179.
September 10 - Burglary-second degree. Officers Justin Conner, Justin Trumbley and Aaron Schlegel responded to multiple reports of car burglaries in the Meeker Addition. The officers reported that six vehicles had been broken into on Kings Drive and two vehicles on Lucinda Lane. Items reported stolen were two packs of gum valued at $3, a bottle of prescription medication valued at $10, loose change valued at $8, and a Garmin GPS valued at $100. Residents with surveillance cameras indicated they would review video footage and report any findings to the officers.
September 11 - Possession of counterfeit coin with intent to circulate. Officer Travis Gray responded to a report of a counterfeit $10 bill at Tony’s Truck Stop, 100 W Mitchell Blvd. According to the report, the suspect, a 49-year-old male, reported that he received the bill in change after eating at a cafe in Okeene.
September 12 - Burglary-second degree. Officer David Catron responded to a report of a car burglary in the 800 block of Lucinda Lane. According to the report, two vehicles had been broken into, but the owner did not observe anything missing from either vehicle.
September 12 - Burglary of vehicle. Officer David Catron responded to a report of a car burglary in the 2100 block of South 13th Avenue. According to the report, the owner stated he left his vehicle unlocked overnight and someone entered his vehicle and stole a battery boost box valued at $125.
September 15 - Burglary-second degree. Officer Charles Trout responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at Southside Wreckers, 1313 S. Main St. Upon arrival, Trout was directed to the north gate where a chain had been cut to gain access to the impound lot. A 2012 GMC Sierra, previously impounded by the Kingfisher Police Department, was missing from the impound lot according to the report. Trout stated in his report he took photographs of the chain and seized a pair of safety glasses as evidence from the ground near where the vehicle had been parked. The owners of South-side Wreckers stated the impound lot had surveillance cameras and they would locate and review the video. Trout stated in his report that after speaking with the owner of the truck, who was an inmate at the county jail, he would file a stolen vehicle report and enter the vehicle identification into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC).
September 16 - Protective order violation. Officer Justin Conner responded to a report of a protective order violation in the 500 block of North First Street. Officer Aaron Schlegel assisted with the investigation.
September 16 - Petit larceny. Officer Justin Conner responded to Atwoods, 1213 S. Main St., in reference to a reported theft. Conner spoke with management personnel who reportedly stated two women attempted to purchase multiple items with a check. One woman waited at the cash register as the check was being processed and the other woman left the store with the items, according to the report. The cashier reported the check payment was declined and the woman indicated she would retrieve her debit card from her vehicle and return to purchase the items, but did not return. Conner and Sergeant Justin Trumbley reviewed the store surveillance video and were unable to identify the two women. Thirty-four items were taken with a total value of slightly more than $895.
September 18 - Planning or threatening violent act. Officer Travis Gray was dispatched to a welfare check in the 400 block of East Broadway. Gray made contact with the resident and took a report regarding alleged threats against the resident, according to the report.
September 20 - Warrant. Officer Charles Trout was dispatched to Second and Sykes in reference to a woman with an outstanding warrant. The woman was arrested and transported to the county jail. Officer Jason East assisted with the call.
September 22 - Driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked. Officer Justin Conner was on patrol when he observed a vehicle southbound on U.S. 81 with a damaged rear tail light, emitting a white light instead of red, according to the report. Conner stated in his report he initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle and when he checked the 28-year-old male driver’s identification, he was advised the driver’s license was suspended. Conner issued a district citation to the driver and advised him to have someone pick him up, along with the vehicle.
