Kingfisher police investigate reports

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

March 1 - Malicious injury/destruction of property.

Officer Derek Grassman responded to a report of property damage at Meadow Glen Apartments, 801 Kens Road.

Grassman said in his report that he met with the property manager and observed paint covering multiple surfaces as well as several canisters of spray paint in an apartment closet.

According to the report, the manager provided the officer with the previous tenant’s identification and provided a contractor’s estimate of damages which totaled $850.

March 23 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.

Officer Justin Conner responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.

According to the report, Conner made contact with the suspect in a vehicle located in the parking lot.

The 19-year-old male admitted to taking merchandise without paying for it, but said “he thought his grandmother who was still inside the store was paying for them,” according to the report.

The suspect gave the officer two boxes of ankle weights and the officer escorted the suspect into the store to speak with the management, the report said.

Once inside, an asset protection manager stated that he observed the suspect enter the bathroom with the merchandise, exit the bathroom, proceed past all points of sale and leave the store, according to the report.

After returning to the store with the officer, the suspect paid for the ankle weights which totaled $30.28.

Officer Aaron Schlegel assisted with the investigation.

March 24 - Larceny of lost property.

Sergeant Charles Trout responded to a report of theft at Mercy Hospital Kingfisher, 1001 Hospital Circle.

According to the report, a female individual stated she was at the hospital with her father and she left her purse there as she went to retrieve an item from her father’s house.

On the following day, the individual noticed that her wallet, which contained identification, credit cards and gift cards, was missing from her purse, the report said.

March 24 - Public intoxication and larceny of merchandise from retailer.

Officer Justin Conner responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.

According to the report, the asset protection manager stated he observed the 36-year-old female suspect at a self-checkout register where she scanned only a portion of the items in her shopping cart and then completed the transaction and exited the store.

Conner and Officer Aaron Schlegel made contact with the suspect, who appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication, and it was determined that she had an active warrant, according to the report.

A total of 18 items were stolen which totaled $197.71, the report said.

The suspect was placed under arrest for the warrant, public intoxication and larceny of merchandise from a retailer and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

March 25 - Fraudulent use of credit card number and larceny of lost property.

Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel responded to a report of fraud in the 200 block of Main Street.

Melia Schultz reportedly stated her wallet was missing which contained identification and credit/ debit cards.

According to the report, she received an alert informing her that a charge had been attempted on her debit card, but was denied.

Schultz stated that the last place she recalled using her wallet was at Love’s Country Store, but it could have also been taken from her vehicle, the report said.

On March 26, Schultz reported that she had located her wallet “outside, between the house and the car, with all items still inside,” according to the report.
