Kingfisher police reports

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

Feb. 18 - Grand larceny, petit larceny, and pattern of criminal offenses. Officer Aaron Schlegel took a report from Tom Hamilton Jr. regarding theft from his property in the 500 block of West Miles Avenue.

According to the report, Hamilton stated a 12-foot trailer had been stolen from his property and he had also recently discovered a spray gun, skill saw and miter saw were missing.

A witness at a neighboring property reportedly stated that he saw a known subject taking items from the east side of the residence.

Hamilton stated that the subject had previously worked for him and he now suspects he had taken the trailer as well, according to the report.

Schlegel stated in his report that he spoke with the 35-year-old male subject over the phone and the man said he would contact him concerning an interview, but he did not.

Schlegel contacted Deputy Todd Davis to assist with the investigation.

According to the report, Schlegel and Davis determined through law enforcement sources that the trailer had been pawned at an Oklahoma City pawn shop by the subject and another male.

The officers went to the pawn shop where they took photographs of the trailer, reviewed surveillance footage of the subjects and the trailer and received a copy of the pawn transaction. Davis made contact with

Davis made contact with the subject and he reportedly stated he and the other man, whom he identified, had taken the trailer and pawned it.

Schlegel stated in his report that he was seeking an arrest warrant for both men.

The trailer was valued at $1,200 and the other items at approximately $1,000.

Feb. 26 - Injuring or molesting automobiles. Officer Travis Gray took a report of damage to a vehicle in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express, 1708 S. Main St.

Gray was met in the parking lot by the owners of a 2006 Ford F-150 and they directed the officer to scuffs near the door and several punctures to the inner door seal, according to the report.

Feb. 26 - No driver’s license. Officer Justin Conner was dispatched in reference to a reckless driver on U.S. 81.

According to the report, he located the northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 near Starlite Drive. Conner stated in his report that he followed and observed the vehicle until the driver turned on to the service road leading to Dollar General and initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle.

The 24-year-old male driver reportedly stated that he did not have a driver’s license. Conner verified with dispatch that the driver did not have a driver’s license and issued him a citation for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.

The passenger in the vehicle, who had a valid driver’s license, was allowed to drive the vehicle from the scene.
