Kingfisher Rotary hosts quartet of KHS seniors

Kingfisher High School seniors Bree Taylor, Lilia McAlvain, Brenda Jimenez and Sophia Trout were guests last week of the Kingfisher Rotary Club.

Taylor is the daughter of Bill and Brooke Taylor.

She’s been active in FFA, student council, BPA, FCA, softball and basketball, among others.

Her honors include National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, Academic All-State, Junior Lion, KHS Student of the Month and several others.

She’s currently the FFA president and NHS vice president.

Taylor’s FFA accomplishments are numerous, including being a five-time state champion in CDE events, a 2018 national champion, showing the grand wether at Oklahoma Youth Expo twice and earning the OYE Lifetime Achievement Award.

Taylor plans to attend Oklahoma State University and double major in accounting and agribusiness.

McAlvain is the daughter of Chris McAlvain and Dawn Wittrock.

She is currently the KHS yearbook editor and is also active in photography.

Her honors include National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, 4.0 Award, Academic Excellence Award, superintendent’s honor roll, principal’s honor roll and she is a class valedictorian.

McAlvain plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma and major in psychology.

Jimenez is the daughter of Pedro and Candy Jimenez.

She’s active in drama, speech, debate, Spanish Club, BPA and the Mercy Student Governing Board.

She’ been inducted into the National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, has been listed on the superintendent’s honor roll and is a class valedictorian.

Jimenez plans to attend UCO and double major in psychology and forensic sciences.

Trout is the daughter of Chod and Jessie Trout.

She’s active in speech, drama and debate.

She was elected Drama Queen in 2018 and has been listed on both the superintendent’s honor roll and principal’s honor roll and is a class salutatorian.

She plans to attend UCO with the career goal of becoming a museum curator.
