Kingfisher Salutes You

By

Even though Kingfisher grads will still walk across a stage and accept their diplomas next weekend, these students have seen most of the traditions of their senior year totally upended. But the school and community have found creative ways to honor the Class of 2020, including this giant banner unfurled last week on a wall in the 300 block of North Main Street, above, sponsored by KPS, Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce, Walter Building Center, Cimarron Electric Cooperative and Accentra Home Health and Hospice. CEC workers Rodney Johnson and Curtis Chlouber help hang the banner, while Zach Smith and Chamber Director Shauna Rupp supervise on the ground. KHS also will broadcast a virtual awards ceremony, below, at 7 p.m. Monday on Pioneer DTV Channel 1, kingfishersports.tv and the KHS Facebook page. Pioneer Production Specialist Doug Dobbs is behind the camera, while Principal Todd Overstreet, Counselor Paula Leffingwell, Administrative Assistant Teri Layn and Assistant Principal Jay Wood are in front.
