KINGFISHER SUPERINTENDENT Jason Sternberger discussed a multitude of topics with Kingfisher Lions at the civic club’s weekly meeting last Thursday. Sternberger, left, addressed the safety measures the district is taking as students and teachers return to school this week. He also discussed how each school within the district was preparing for the potential of moving to virtual or distance learning, whether it be for a short or extended amount of time. Whereas last year teachers weren’t allowed into the buildings once schools were shut down, Sternberger said that won’t be the case this year, meaning more virtual learning can take place. Students from second grade on up will each be assigned a Chromebook to help with that type of learning. “We firmly believe teaching and learning needs to happen one-on-one,” Sternberger said.
