The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following traffic incident:
March 24, 6:41 p.m. — Main and Sheridan. Involved were Joshua Aaron Sandwick, 35, of Enid, driving a 2005 Chevrolet; Jesse Chancellor, 21, of Fort Pierce, Fla., driving a 2007 Dodge Ram; and Joseph L. Walker, 36, of Enid, driving a 2019 Toyota.
According to the report from Officer Aaron Schlegel, Chancellor was stopped in traffic, just north of Sheridan Avenue for the red signal light at Broadway Ave. The vehicle was in the left-hand, northbound lane.
Walker was also stopped in traffic, just ahead of Chancellor, in the right-hand lane.
Sandwick was traveling northbound in the left-hand lane just north of Sheridan Ave., and ran into the back of the Chancellor vehicle, backed up, and ran into it again. Sandwick then swerved into the right-hand lane (to pass Chancellor) and tried to swerve back into the left lane. At that point, Sandwick struck the Walker vehicle while trying to swerve back into the left-lane, causing damage to the passenger front of Sandwick vehicle and the driver’s rear of the Walker vehicle.
Sandwick then maneuvered through traffic and fled the scene, travelling northbound. Witnesses were able to provide a tag number and the vehicle was located at Waukomis, where Sandwick was placed under arrest.
