Kingfisher traffic accidents

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:

August 5, 2:35 p.m. - At the intersection of 13th Street and Seay Avenue. Shasta Yost, 38, Kingfisher, driving a 2018 GMC Yukon, was traveling north on 13th Street attempting to make a right turn onto Seay Avenue. The Yost vehicle suddenly stopped partially in the roadway to keep from colliding with a truck that was westbound in the eastbound lane of Seay Avenue due to city street employees performing work in the westbound lane. A 17-year-old female, Kingfisher, driving a 2013 Ford, was also traveling northbound on 13th Street and collided with the rear driver’s side of the Yost vehicle when it came to a sudden stop. There were no injuries reported and both vehicles received functional damage according to the report.

August 8, 1:00 p.m. - At 112 W. Will Rogers Drive. Madeline Loosen, 18, Kingfisher, driving a 2017 Jeep Wrangler, was backing from a parking space. Jason Privett, 37, Crescent, driving a 2018 Kia, was traveling through the parking lot and was struck by the Loosen vehicle as it exited the parking space. The report stated minor damage was sustained to the Loosen vehicle and functional damage to the Privett vehicle.

August 10, 12:58 p.m. - At Bowman Avenue and Oklahoma Park. A 17-year-old male, Kingfisher, driving a 2017 Volkswagen, was attempting to make a left-hand turn from Bowman Avenue into Oklahoma Park. At the same time, Robert Boeckman, 69, Okeene, driving a 2015 Chevrolet, was attempting to make a left-hand turn exiting the park onto Bowman Avenue when he collided with the driver’s side rear door of the juvenile male’s vehicle. The Boeckman vehicle sustained minor damage and there was functional damage reported to the juvenile’s vehicle.

August 13, 9:30 a.m. - At Main Street (U.S. 81) and Starlite Drive. Jacob Byars, 38, McLoud, driving a 2015 GMC, was stopped at the stoplight southbound on U.S. 81. Brittany Dunn, 31, Kingfisher, driving a 2019 Jeep Cherokee, was also southbound when she failed to stop for the stoplight and collided with the rear of the Byars’ vehicle, according to the report. Functional damage was reported to both vehicles.
