KPD reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
June 21 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer. Officer Charles Trout responded to a report of theft at Atwoods, 1213 S. Main St. Employees reportedly stated a theft sensor sounded when a male customer wearing all black and a black mask exited the store. According to the report, one of the employees obtained the license plate number and a description of the suspect’s vehicle. The manager provided store surveillance video of the suspect during the time of the incident, the report said. Officer Ryan Gibson witnessed the suspect on the video open a package of razor blades and remove an anti-theft sensor from a package containing a Dewalt impact drill, then place the drill in his coat, according to the report. The reported value of the drill and razor blades totaled approximately $107. Trout stated in his report Trout stated in his report that he was able to identify possible suspects from the license plate number and additional information from the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.
June 27 - Driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked. Officer Dillon Chaloupek stated in his report that he was southbound on U.S. 81 when he witnessed a vehicle with an unilluminated third brake light. Chaloupek initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle and upon contact with the 30-year-old male driver, determined he did not had a valid driver’s license, according to the report. Chaloupek issued the driver a citation for driving a motor vehicle without a driver’s license. The driver was allowed to park the vehicle and contact a licensed driver to pick him up. Officer Ryan Gibson assisted with the investigation.
